When the last antibiotic fails, who stands between us and the dark?
The idea for this film came from something I witness every day — the quiet, invisible war between bacteria and the human body. I wanted to make that war visible. Not as a textbook diagram, but as something you can feel: the tension in an ER when antibiotics stop working, the weight on a physician's shoulders when there's nothing left to prescribe.
The Superbug Crisis traces how we arrived here — from antibiotics poured into fish farms and livestock feed, to incomplete treatments that let bacteria grow stronger — and follows an infectious disease physician through the moment when resistance becomes personal. A patient. A failing drug. A decision that can't wait.
But this isn't a story about despair. It's about the moment hope returns — through science, through trust between doctors and patients, and through the small, everyday choices that hold the line against resistance.
