Christmas felt like the right setting. Not because of the holiday itself, but because of what it does to formality. Even the most composed person loosens up a little on Christmas Eve. I wanted to put the Duke in a situation where his usual elegance starts to crack — not because something goes wrong, but because something goes right.

That's not the Duke speaking. That's the person underneath.

If you watch closely, you'll notice the Duke doesn't always look the same. Different scenes, slightly different faces. That's a real limitation of AI video generation — maintaining perfect character consistency across shots is still one of the hardest problems to solve.

But I decided not to fight it. Instead, I leaned into it as part of the story. The Cat Duke isn't one person — he's an idea. A role passed down through the clockwork city's history. Every generation has its own Duke: a different face, a different coat, but the same quiet duty. They all light the lamps. They all walk the fog. And on this particular Christmas night, one of them finally found a reason to stop and dance.

So the changing faces aren't a mistake — they're a tradition.
