Where the idea came from
It started with a single image in my head: a city wrapped in golden fog, with gears turning somewhere deep below the streets. Not loud, not dramatic — just quietly alive. I kept asking myself: if a city like that had a night watchman, what would he look like?
The answer, for some reason, was a cat. An elegant one, in a coat, walking through the mist with a brass cane, lighting streetlamps one by one. Not a hero. Just someone who makes sure the lights stay on.

Why a waltz?
A waltz felt right because it's not fast and not slow — it rotates. Like gears. Like footsteps on cobblestone at midnight. The 3/4 rhythm has a natural turning motion that felt perfect for a city that never stops moving but never rushes.
I wanted the mood to stay soft and a little melancholic, but never hopeless. Like walking alone at night in a beautiful place — you feel small, but not lost.

I liked this idea because it's the opposite of what you'd expect from a "duke." No throne, no crown. Just a cane, a coat, and a quiet sense of duty.

How the visuals match the music
I tried to give every section of the song its own visual mood: the verses are walking scenes — the Cat Duke alone in the mist. The chorus is about light — streetlamps glowing, the city waking in amber. The bridge zooms into mechanical details: gears, springs, ticking. And the final chorus pulls back to a wide shot of the whole city.
