POLAR AURORA sends a scarf-wearing penguin sprinting down a frozen runway beneath the northern lights. Dodge icebergs, vault seals, slide under ice arches and chase fish — for as long as your nerve holds.
There are no image files, no audio files, no fonts and no libraries in this project. Not one. The aurora, the mountains, the penguin's face and the reflections in the ice are all drawn with Canvas geometry every frame, and the whole soundtrack is synthesized live by Web Audio oscillators. It runs offline by opening a single file.
Features
- Pseudo-3D Perspective: A classic third-person chase camera with true pinhole projection — obstacles grow hyperbolically as they rush toward you. The ice is a flat plane, so every screen row maps to exactly one world depth, which textures the runway perfectly with no polygons at all
- A Penguin With A Face: A chase camera stares at a runner's back, hiding everything that gives a character life. So his face and belly are decals projected onto an ellipsoid by a yaw angle — he genuinely turns his head to scan the ice, blinks, frowns at near misses and glances back at you when something goes right
- The Aurora Is The Key Light: One sampled light source feeds the ice reflections, the snow, the mountain rims and the penguin's rim light, so the entire frame stays colour-consistent for free
- Seven Hazards, Three Verbs: Ice holes, seals, snowballs and broken ice want a jump; crystals and icebergs want a dodge; arches want a slide. The silhouette tells you which before you can read any detail
- Seven Treasures: Fish, golden fish, score crystals, ice shields, magnets, hot cocoa and the rare aurora crystal that makes the whole sky pulse
- Synthesized Score: A look-ahead scheduler layers pad, bass, arpeggio and bells that swell as your run gets faster — plus gusting wind and a procedurally generated reverb
- Glassmorphism UI: Blurred panels, animated menus, live scene behind every screen
